Hilo is a coastal town in the islands of Hawaii which is the largest island in the State of Hawaii of the country of the union of states called the United States of America. This is the largest settlement on the Island of Hawaii and the second largest of the state of Hawaii after the county of Honolulu.

The region of Hilo belongs to the time zone of Hawaii-Aleutian and is home to the University of Hawai ? i at Hilo. This is one of the largest educational institutions within the state of Hawaii and is the hub of education of the state.
